Gaia Vision Participates in SBTN’s Corporate Engagement Program

Gaia Vision Co., Ltd. has announced its participation in the SBTN Corporate Engagement Program implemented by the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN), an international initiative that aims to formulate science-based targets in the entire natural capital field.

Science Based Targets Network（SBTN） is an initiative launched in 2019 by the Global Commons Alliance, an organization working around the United Nations’ Global Environment Facility (GEF). It is a network organization for working with non-profit organizations and companies to develop and provide methods and resources for setting science-based goals for a sustainable global system. SBTN aims to empower businesses and cities to operate in an environmentally sustainable manner to restore balance to the interconnected global systems of water resources, biodiversity, land, sea and climate.
The SBTN Corporate Engagement Program aims to jointly develop SBT assessment methods for companies’ natural capital use (water use, land use, marine use, resource use, climate change, pollution, biodiversity) with a large number of partners (companies, etc.) by 2022. Gaia Vision participated in this program with the aim of contributing to the development of SBT assessment methods for climate change and water resources in particular by utilizing its cooperative relationships with universities and research institutes and its own climate and water resources big data analysis technology. By participating in this program, you will be able to achieve the following three aspects of the Gaia Vision:

• Feedback on the design of more user-friendly methods and tools
• Be the first to come into contact with cutting-edge science
• Understand and prioritize behavior related to nature

Through this program, Gaia Vision will contribute to the evolution and dissemination of SBT by providing unique expertise and methodology on SBTN’s approach, and by participating in a network that shares best practices and experiences with other organizations and companies, Gaia Vision will accelerate its efforts to improve sustainability in Japan and around the world.
