Co-founder Demoto speaks at a workshop in Science Agora 2023 hosted by JST (November 18, 5:30 pm)

Gaia Vision Co-founder Demoto will speak at a workshop in Science Agora 2023 hosted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 5:30 pm at the Telecom Center Building in Odaiba, Tokyo. This event would discuss how to establish “connections during ordinary times” in preparation for disasters and to incorporate them into concrete actions.

■Purpose of the event

This session will be held as one of the projects of Science Agora 2023. Science Agora is an annual event organized by JST since 2006, held with the aim to become a place that “connects science and society”.

Science Agora 2023 will be take place both online and in real life according to the following five topics.

  • Nature
  • Society
  • Sports and art
  • Leisure and entertainment
  • Social issues

This session, titled “100 Years from the Great Kanto Earthquake: Toward Creating Collective Impact in Disaster Risk Management” consists 2 parts.

  • Session 1: Open session
    No registration is required and everyone is welcome to attend.
  • Session 2: Networking workshop
    This is an event to prepare for future disasters and to connect people regardless of position.
    Anyone involved in disaster prevention is welcome to attend the event upon registration.

The first session will discuss how to prepare for the coming natural disaster, considering 100 years have passed since the Great Kanto Earthquake.

Gaia Vision Co-founder Demoto will be one of the speakers for Session 2: Networking Workshop “How to Create ‘Concrete Collaborative Actions’ to Build Connections from Ordinary Times”. In this session, we will discuss how to link everyday connections/relations to actual operations. We will discuss inclusive disaster management and the involvement of the private sector, envisioning networking and innovative ideas.
