Gaia Vision speaks at the Asian Disaster Reduction Center’s seminar on disaster prevention technology for government disaster prevention officials.
Gaia Vision introduced our technologies and services at the Asian Disaster Reduction Center’s seminar on disaster prevention technologies for government disaster prevention officials from various countries. Every year, the Asian Disaster Reduction Center (ADRC) accepts visiting researchers (VR) from member countries in the Southeast Asian region. This session was held as a part of this invitation program in cooperation with JBP (Japan Disaster Reduction Platform) to introduce Japanese disaster prevention technologies.
The event included an introduction of Gaia Vision’s climate risk analysis platform “Climate Vision” and high-resolution flood forecasting solution “Water Vision,” and discussions were held with government officials regarding the availability and technical structure (e.g., topographical data to be used) of the platform. The participants discussed with government officials of various countries about the possibility of using the platform and its technical structure (e.g., topographical data to be used).

About the Visiting Researchers (VR) Program
The Asian Disaster Reduction Center (ADRC) accepts visiting researchers (VR: Visiting Researcher) from member countries in the Asian region every year. The researchers stay in Japan for about three months, based at the ADRC, to learn about disaster reduction efforts and technologies, and to learn about cooperation and collaboration with government agencies, international organizations, and disaster reduction agencies. The ADRC accepts six researchers per year, and a total of 126 researchers from 27 countries have participated in this program so far.
During their stay in Japan, the foreign researchers, each with his or her own research theme, participate in various activities in Japan, including national and local governments, universities, research institutes, NGOs, and community disaster prevention activities and events, to gain much knowledge to strengthen the disaster preparedness of their own countries.
